Deadwood (2019): Welcome the fuck back.

The magnificent western TV-series Deadwood, ended way too soon back in 2006. A while back I was happy to read that the movie finally was about to be made, after teasing it ever since the TV-series ended.

I’ve just finished watching the Deadwood movie, and the cool thing is that it continues 10 years after the TV-show ended. Things have changed, but Swearengen (played by the always brilliant Ian McShane)  is still the same.

It was fun to see this movie, and it makes me wish even more that they had made many more seasons of the original TV-series. However, this movie give us some conclusion and a proper ending that the TV-show did not give us.

The foulmouthed Swearengen, and the rest of the foulmouths will forever be missed, but a binge rewatch is always just around the corner of course. 😀

Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr

Finally the new expansion for Elder Scrolls Online is out. I’m still working on some old content so I won’t get to Elsweyr just yet, but I just got one map left and then I’m ready for the Season of the Dragons.

Birds of Tokyo – Good Lord (2019)

This is my second lyric video, and it’s very simple since I used the original video by Birds of Tokyo, and just added and timed the lyrics.

As for the song itself, Wikipedia states that it’s about Ian Kenny’s (the singer) marriage ending. I think most of us have been in a similar situation, I can relate to it anyway.

Ian Kenny is the singer of Karnivool, one of my favorite bands.

…and since I don’t think I shared my first lyric video here on korp.no, here it is, the song Vakaren by Katatonia performed in Swedish:

Marilyn Manson – Cry Little Sister

The first video below is the fantastic cover of The Lost Boys theme song – Cry Little Sister originally performed by Gerard McMahon.

I’ve been listening to it a lot ever since it was released, but wasn’t aware it was released as a video too, so I decided to list up some of Marilyn Manson’s other cover songs as well.

I started listening to Marilyn Manson when Antichrist Superstar was released in 1996, and it didn’t take long until I got his previous releases as well. Sweet dreams (are made of this), originally by Eurythmics, was the first cover I heard by Marilyn Manson, and it’s still one of my favourites:

Personal Jesus, originally by Depeche Mode:

Some other covers he has done are:

  • Tainted Love by Soft Cell
  • This is Halloween from the movie The Nightmare Before Xmas (Danny Elfman)
  • I Put A Spell On You by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins
  • Suicide Is Painless from the movie M*A*S*H
  • God’s Gonna Cut You Down, a traditional folk song
  • Five To One by The Doors

…and there are many more! Maybe someday they all will be released as an album or two?

Watching and listening to David Attenborough is something I’ve done ever since I was a little boy. He has been with me as a grew up, became an adult, and even today he still with me in this journey called life.

His multiple series covering flora and fauna has always been a remarkable view on how diverse, and sometimes complicated, everything on earth is.

Netflix’ Our Planet is his latest series of which he is the narrator. I looked forward to this one as well, like with all the others, but this series is very serious, and it’s showing us footage (proof if you like) on how our planet changes due to climate change/global warming. It’s depressing to watch obviously, and these are things we’ve known about for decades now.

It’s a good series, with high quality footage of a lot of things never shown in this way before. For example, the use of drones gives us an extra dimension in several of the scenes.

Like Attenborough is saying, it’s not too late if we change our ways right now. Check out THIS video, at OurPlanet.com, of David Attenborough explaining what needs to be done.

Cover song: Rage Against The Machine – Bulls On Parade

A decent cover of a track I’ve been listening to ever since it came out. Although I don’t really listen to rap, there are exceptions, and DEnzel Curry knows his stuff.

Rage Against The Machine (RATM) is still sorely missed. Prophets of Rage and everything else the ex-band members have been doing after RATM split up, doesn’t even come close to what awesomeness they had in RATM. I have to admit that Prophets of Rage is pretty good though.
