ListenBrainz: My year in music

I started using ListenBrainz instead of Last.fm this year, and I’m quite happy with it. It’s free and is easy to use I’d say.

Here are some of my stats from 2021, and honestly, the pictures below don’t show it all for sure. There are so much more with about the same playtime as those listed.

I also stream via YouTube Music, and those stats aren’t shown here. If they were, The Open up and Bleeds would most likely top everything. 🤘🏻The album Nocturne by Vangelis is my go to nighty-night music, so that would also be way up there.

With that being said, I really like everything in the pictures, and the full stats can be viewed here:

Concert: London Grammar – Livestreaming Californian Soil

I’ve been listening more and more to London Grammar, which is in a genre (indie pop) I never really listen to unless it’s on the radio or in a movie/TV-show.

Their new album was released yesterday, and they had a release concert on YouTube with an after party for YouTube’s Premium members. I fell asleep so I missed the whole thing, but it’s still available.

I saw it a bit earlier, and it’s a well-oiled machinery behind this concert. Great musicians, production, and it looked really nice overall. The music was in focus of course, and the new album is amazing. The singles released prior to the album have all been damn fine.

Check out the concert here:

An active volcano on Iceland

As many of you probably know by now, there’s an active volcano on Iceland. It’s not a huge one (atm), which is good in many ways, but also for the fact that we get a lot of sublime photos and videos from there. Some drone footage is out of this world.

I’ve been paying attention to Iceland (and others) for quite some time now. The arthquake activity has been intense with tens of thousands of earthquakes leading up to the eruption itself.

Anyway, I want to share som videos and YouTube channels that are cool – so here they are.

Let’s start with the live video from ruv.is:

Here’s a timelapse from the first 3 days and it shows the more or less steady flow of lava:

This is a news broadcast with interviews and some spectacular footage. Check out the lava fried hotdogs at the end:

Amazing drone videos (check out his YouTube-channel for more videos):

Speaking of live video, here’s one that collects the video feed from several volcanos around the world:
