More music! Leprous is one of my top favourite bands, and they keep on evolving their music. Below is their first single from the next album, and they made a pretty cool video to go with it as well.
The song is beyond awesome, and I’m already ready for the album, Pitfalls, which will be released on October 25th.
I will see them live in Oslo in November as well, and that’s seriously gonna be sweeeeet.
I haven’t played for the full 15 years, but I’ve been on and off since 2007. 🙂 Pretty crazy to think that this game is 15 years old nowadays though.
Here’s a nice little tune to help celebrate!
A new album, Spiritual Instinct, by Alcest will be arriving on October 25th. This is the first single from that album and *spoiler alert* it’s pretty damn good, and I’m really looking forward to the album!
So far no dates has been added in Norway/Scandinavia for their upcoming tour, but hopefully something will come later. 🙂
Speaking of Alcest (Neige). He is featured in one of Ison’s songs from their upcoming album INNER – SPACE. Ison is another favourite of mine and they consist og Heike (Draconian) and Daniel (Crippled Black Phoenix + many, many more). Make sure you check them out and buy their beautiful music.
Anyway, here’s the song with Neige:
Due to some health issues I’ve put everything on hold… including concerts. Thankfully I think maybe I have gotten on top of those health things now, and I have started going to concerts again. 😀
It began with John Fogerty in July, but a video has not been added to YouTube yet. I’ve had some issues with my video editor as well, and figured them out just now. A video will appear tomorrow… at the latest.
Anway, yesterday was my 44th birthday, and I celebrated by going to see The Dogs who were playing at a local festival. I’ve only seen videos before and heard stories, so it was about time I experienced these guys live myself. It was awesome… and cold, so I didn’t stay for the entire show. Still what I saw was beyond awesome, and I will definitely catch these guys again sometime.
Check out their merch, music, and everything else on Facebook and their homepage.
This video is in 2160p resolution (a.k.a. 4K)! 🙂
This is my second lyric video, and it’s very simple since I used the original video by Birds of Tokyo, and just added and timed the lyrics.
As for the song itself, Wikipedia states that it’s about Ian Kenny’s (the singer) marriage ending. I think most of us have been in a similar situation, I can relate to it anyway.
Ian Kenny is the singer of Karnivool, one of my favorite bands.
…and since I don’t think I shared my first lyric video here on korp.no, here it is, the song Vakaren by Katatonia performed in Swedish:
The first video below is the fantastic cover of The Lost Boys theme song – Cry Little Sister originally performed by Gerard McMahon.
I’ve been listening to it a lot ever since it was released, but wasn’t aware it was released as a video too, so I decided to list up some of Marilyn Manson’s other cover songs as well.
I started listening to Marilyn Manson when Antichrist Superstar was released in 1996, and it didn’t take long until I got his previous releases as well. Sweet dreams (are made of this), originally by Eurythmics, was the first cover I heard by Marilyn Manson, and it’s still one of my favourites:
Personal Jesus, originally by Depeche Mode:
Some other covers he has done are:
- Tainted Love by Soft Cell
- This is Halloween from the movie The Nightmare Before Xmas (Danny Elfman)
- I Put A Spell On You by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins
- Suicide Is Painless from the movie M*A*S*H
- God’s Gonna Cut You Down, a traditional folk song
- Five To One by The Doors
…and there are many more! Maybe someday they all will be released as an album or two?
A really cool tune I first heard in a TV-show called The Blacklist. It was at the end of the last season 3 episode.
A decent cover of a track I’ve been listening to ever since it came out. Although I don’t really listen to rap, there are exceptions, and DEnzel Curry knows his stuff.
Rage Against The Machine (RATM) is still sorely missed. Prophets of Rage and everything else the ex-band members have been doing after RATM split up, doesn’t even come close to what awesomeness they had in RATM. I have to admit that Prophets of Rage is pretty good though.
These are my top 20 artists of a total of 590 in 2018, according to last.fm:
Audience: Approx. 300
Support: Jo Quail
Venue: John Dee, Oslo, Norway
Here’s the song “Bonden og Kragen” by Myrkur from her concert in Oslo last night:
The concert, which is most likely going to be my last of 2018, was of the two-sided kind. The first half hour or so consisted of folk songs, and after that it was a more varied repertoire.
This song is from the folk song part of the concert, and while I was standing pretty okay my camera was not happy, hence the shitty video quality. The audio is pretty good though.
Also, Myrkur released an offical video for this song today as well – watch it here:
It’s worth noting that Jo Quail are opening up for Myrkur on this tour, so if you’re going to any of the remaining concerts you should go there early and listen to what Jo can do with her cello. It was fantastic stuff! 🙂
If you want to support Myrkur go buy all her stuff at her Bandcamp page.
Also, check her website for all things Myrkur at her own personal webpage.
Jo Quail is also on Bandcamp, and you can stream her music there if you want to know her better.
